Nuclear Medicine - MMHRC

World-class technologies. For impeccable care.

The division of Nuclear Medicine at MMHRC was commissioned on 12th April 1996 after getting approval from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai. This division is the first of its kind in southern Tamilnadu and is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging facilities. The department started with ECIL gamma camera. GE millennium MPR camera later replaced the ECIL camera. At present, the nuclear medicine department has GE Discovery NM 630 dual head gamma camera and GE Discovery IQ PET CT. First dedicated breast PET camera Mammi is undergoing installation. The department also has two isolation rooms for high dose radio-nuclide therapy of thyroid cancer, metastatic NET and prostate cancer patients. As on 2021, the department has performed more than 55000 diagnostic procedures and more than 2000 therapeutic procedures.

  • Gamma Camera - GE Discovery NM 630
  • PET CT - GE Discovery IQ PET CT
  • Oncovision Mammi - Dedicated PET Mammogram
  • High dose radionuclide therapy wards
  • Low dose and beta radionuclide therapy room
  • Gamma Probe for sentinel lymph node detection

Services Offered:

  • Gamma Camera - All diagnostic nuclear medicine techniques are routinely performed in the department.
