Primary, secondary or tertiary care – the Department of Ophthalmology at MMHRC does excellent community-oriented programs to help the needy with eye problems. It has programs that cover Madurai and large parts of south Tamil Nadu. It also conducts regular eye camps in more than seven districts, completely free of cost. MMHRC is probably the only comprehensive therapeutic facility in the region to provide effective screening and treatment to a wide range of eye problems.
