The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at MMHRC is one of the most advanced centers of excellence available to patients in need of heart surgery. The department is staffed by the finest cardiothoracic surgeons who perform on a daily basis procedures such as bypass surgery, open heart surgery, mitral valve replacement and more. They cater to patients with a variety of cardiothoracic diseases that range from valvular heart disease to congenital heart disease, atrial fibrillation, mitral regurgitation and other related conditions.

Through incessant self-evaluation and course-correction guided by patient feedback the department has, over the years, greatly improved its efficiency and quality. We have a vision to perform heart transplantation surgeries and keyhole robotic cardiac surgeries in the near future.

The department features a state-of-the-art Operation theatre with a seamless stainless steel cladding of the walls, laminar airflow and a separate air-handling unit exclusively for its use. These facilities help reduce the infection rate to zero and make surgeries as safe as can be.
