The inauguration ceremony of the Foot care clinic was held at Madurai Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre. The Foot care clinic provides services include the diagnosis and treatment of foot pressure, foot ulcers, and other foot problems. The salient feature of the centre is the presence of a Diabetologist, Vascular Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon, and Orthopedic Surgeon, all in one place.
In this inauguration ceremony, medical experts addressed topics like the Introduction of the Foot care clinic, Early detection of vascular problems, Prevention of foot problems due to diabetes, Dressing of wounds, Charcot Arthropathy, and Orthosis.
Dr. UT Vassan, Unit Head, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, gave the welcome address on the occasion. Medical Director Dr. Ramesh Ardhanari presided over the program. Dr. A. Rathnavel, Dean, of Madurai Medical College & GRH, was the Chief Guest of the event.
Dr. B. Kannan, Medical Administrator, Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, President of IMA – Madurai Meenakshi Branch, Dr. M. Karthikeyan, Hony. Secretary of IMA – Madurai Meenakshi Branch delivered the felicitation addresses. Dr. V. Satyanarayana, Head, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Madurai Meenakshi Mission Hospital delivered the vote of thanks. A CME event related to this new clinic was also held.
