Doctors from Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and handed over a cheque of Rs. 20 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund at Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
The hospital’s trustee Kannan and General Manager J. Adel who met the Chief Minister discussed the stressful scenario of the State and the long rehabilitation process. The hospital sent doctors and volunteers to Idukki district for assistance.
S. Gurushankar, Chairman of the hospital, said that the severity of the floods pained everyone.
The scale of devastation was immense and it would take years to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the floods.
