Collaborative Life-Saving Initiative – CPR Training for Police

In a pioneering step towards community safety and emergency preparedness, the District Police Office, Madurai , Government of Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Centre (MMHRC), has launched a district-wide CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and Basic Life Support (BLS) training programme for Madurai District police personnel.

This is the first time in Tamil Nadu that an entire district police force is being systematically trained in emergency life-saving techniques to combat sudden cardiac arrest and other critical emergencies. Over the course of 18 consecutive Saturdays, the initiative aims to train police personnel stationed across Madurai district.

The session witnessed the presence of Mr.B.K.Aravind IPS, Superintendent of Police, Madurai District, Dr. Narendra Nath Jena, Director of Emergency Medicine, MMHRC and Emergency Physicians from Meenakshi Mission Hospital Dr. Prabhu S, Dr. Sheema Kanmani, and Dr. Nancy, along with Mr. S.Sivakumar, General Manager – Marketing.
