A survivor’s meet jointly organized by MEENAKSHI MISSION HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTRE (MMHRC), MAX FOUNDATION India and FRIENDS OF MAX group, witnessed over 250 survivors of CML (a type of blood cancer) and GIST (a type of abdominal tumor). Dr Krishnakumar Rathnam, Head of the department of Medical Oncology at MMHRC, treating a good number of CML & GIST patients in association with MAX Foundation; welcomed the gathering and along with a group of medical experts, insisted on the compliance to drug therapy and answered the queries of various patients from all over the southern state. Mrs Viji Venkatesh, Regional Head of MAX foundation from Mumbai and Dr B Kannan , Medical administrator of MMHRC took part actively in patient interaction. This meeting witnessed various voluntary training sessions and spirited experience sharing sessions by survivors and their family members.
